Great app

This WAS a very useful app. It no longer works with newer iOS updates on my iPhone. Tech support is non-existent.

I loved this app, other than the limited picture storage but oh well. I dumped a ton of time into building out my cellar and documenting it here but when I went to buy more space it wouldn’t add. They were happy enough to take my money though. Guess I am moving on.

Can’t link to my Dropbox database, no help from email link on app, and app help from the App Store links to expired domain. Looks like I’ll need to use a new app and re-enter a ton of ton, plus no history.

App worked great for a couple years. Then few months ago when I went to upload newest file to my iPhones, it defaulted to a may 2020 version. The Dropbox preview shows 11/21 but won’t download that version. I reached out to tech support but no response x 2. Also the internet search option no longer works. It seems this app has been abandoned by it’s makers.

This app used to look up wines via the internet when you typed in a name and filled in that info for you. Now the lookup no longer works and you have to enter everything manually. Not nearly as useful as it used to be when I first bought the app.

Too bad they let dust build on this old wine cellar, because being able to access their wine cellar database was what made this a killer app. Now some simple programming error (or they stopped paying their subscription fee to who ever was maintaining the database) causes an error when looking up wine. Either way, time to find a new wine cellar app.

Don’t waste your money on this. I’ve spent hours filling in my wines (after paying for the extra storage) and after downloading the iOS 14.3 the data will NOT open. Can’t do anything with this app it starts to open and the just goes away.

I just updated my iPhone to iOS 14.3 and now the app won’t open. I have the upgraded version and now 3 years of inventory is lost? No support, no nothing! Buy a different app. This one is worthless now. WAS a great app.

This app used to be fairly good. It hasn’t been updated in a while and some features don’t work properly. Online Search doesn’t work at all.

Years of wine and pics and the app just blows up. I bought the increased storage and th support website doesn’t work

When I bought a few years ago there were not many wine cellar apps. This was better than the other one I tried. But even from the beginning it often did not find the wine I was entering from the online search feature. If it did it find it it usually was not a current vintage. Entering 2015 rarely found a 2015 (or even a 2013 or 2014) but more likely a 2009 vintage version. Like someone else reviewed, the online search no longer works. The process is very manual and can take 30 minutes to add 12 different bottles. There are probably better apps out there so I would look at those first especially since this app has not had an update in over 2 years. With over 100 bottles in my collection and 50 different types, it will probably be too difficult to change at this point.

After it being one of my most used apps for years, it stopped working with IOS4.2. A reinstall will get the app working again but you will lose your data if you don’t have it on another device. With no update for two years, no auto iCloud backup, this app is deprecated and I have deleted it permanently. I recommend avoiding it.

Does anyone know how to reach support? The app doesn’t work on IOS 14.2. I click the tile and the app attempts to launch but immediately crashes. Support is nonexistent. Is it possible they just abandoned the app? I used to love it as an easy way to keep track of wine I liked. If they’re no longer supporting the product I wish they would at least let me know how to access the data of all the wine I had logged so I could dump it into a spreadsheet or new app.

Bought this app a few years ago and it has served me well until the last few months. One of the best features of this app no longer works properly and tech support does not respond to repeated mails and info to fix. The online data base which helps you sort thru thousands of wines so you can quickly add wines to your cellar no longer functions. I believe the links are broken to some third party and that might be where the issue lies. But the developers have so far shown little interest in resolving this problem.

Fix it!

Installed iPadOS 14.2 and the app will not open. It just blows up. I used my iPhone to contact support to report the problem and so far no response. I tried using the link in the App Store for the app and the link takes you no where. You would think the support team would at least acknowledge the email if anyone is monitoring. The support for this app used to be superior, how things change. The App Store app is terrible. This is my third try to update this review. The support for this app is non existent, I waited two weeks, without one acknowledgement to the issue above I finally took it upon myself to delete and restall the app. Because I have this app updated on my iPhone the settings never were lost and the data was saved. I’ve raised the rating to 3. As long as app support continues this app may become obsolete on an iPad - IPhone iCloud, major issue. Also, the online search has not worked since iPadops 14 was introduced. Maybe 3 stars is to high.

Like another user updating to IOS 14.2 makes the app crash at opening. Please fix!! Norm

Recently I changed devices. I needed some brief assistance on how to upload to Dropbox, as I was not getting a complete download on new device. Tried contacting the developer seven times. Nothing. Zero, zilch. Do not expect ANY support. Otherwise it is a good app.

Good but could be better

You only get 10 spaces for free. Have to buy more. What wine collector only has 10 bottles in their cellar? Plus, their database is very limited.

The only comment I would request is to give a tutorial on how to get started. Since I’m new to collecting wine I am not sure of some of the terminology. That said this app is amazing in keeping track of what I have how to pair my wine and figuring out what I like.

The app is very easy to use and leverages data from the internet to make it easy to add wines. By far the best one I use to track my cellar.

I love downloading the .csv file, making additions and corrections, merging it with another wine database I have and uploading the whole works back to Wine Cellar Database. I enjoy databases almost as much as I enjoy wine!

I've been using this Wine Cellar Database app for a year or two now and it's exactly what I've needed. Very customizable, I'm able to enter whatever information I want about each of the wines we have. I can sort wines, filter them, and add new ones easily. Regarding some comments by others about lost data, I can see where maybe that could happen if you don't regularly sync your database to the Dropbox cloud. But I do sync and while I've never lost any data, if I ever did I could restore it from Dropbox. Using Dropbox sync also lets me keep my iPad and iPhone apps databases the same. 5 stars from this very happy user!

I was very pleased with the app for a while and found the wine search function very good. Data entry was easy. However after entering about 150 plus wines it lost all of my data. I had purchased the unlimited wine app. I am afraid to start again and the owner who was originally helpful has now become unresponsive. I would suggest using another app.

I have tried a number of wine cellar apps, and this is by far the best. Adding and deleting bottles from inventory is very simple. I particularly like the online bottle search system. A good deal of bottle information is loaded automatically, including label art if it is available. Extensive information for each bottle can be added manually if so desired. If you have a question or problem, customer service responds almost immediately. This is an excellent app for a beginning or serious wine collector. Absolutely love the new update! Beautifully done.

I've tried many wine apps and even resorted to using spreadsheets and notes. This is now my go to wine cellar app. Not only is it easy to add bottles to the database but there's an online search which works for many top brands. I can see my collection by age or varietal or location or any other attribute. It's very versatile and highly recommended.

Labor intensive, lot of saves BUT GOOD!

This app is my new one stop shop for keeping track of my wines. It offers so many features that allow you to customize categories and lists. If you want an easy to use app with many neat perks, this is the one!

This is a great app. I have a moderate-sized wine room. I purchased the 500 bottle option. I'll go to infinity when the time comes. Being a relatively old guy with a lot of wine to drink (I'm determined!), I had a few questions about how to use the app. Much to my surprise, I received incredible customer support in response to my emailed questions. I have a zillion apps, but I've never seen anything like it. Happy me. My days of perpetually outdated wine room excel spreadsheets are over. Yay!

So happy with every aspect of this app!

I liked it at first and used the 10 free spots thinking that when drank one wine up I could delete that space and then use it again but once the 10 are used they are gone / I don't have a big enough cellar to justify buying spaces for the same wine - will delete this app and go back to paper

I have a >1000 bottle collection, and many of the other apps cannot handle that many. I got the unlimited version, and it has no problem keeping track of all the bottles. The online database is updated regularly, and I am often surprised by the breadth of labels and varietals it contains. The only thing I wish I could do is go into a bit more detail about location of bottles in my five wine fridges - shelf number and front or back is as much as I need. I can highly recommend this app for large or small collectors.

Would be nice for the specs to be automatically filled in for the particular wines.

Great app

I've been using this database for over a year now, upgraded to the 250 one. What I love is when I go wine shopping all I need to do is bring this list up and see what my favorites are, as I rate all my red wines using their personal score. This way I don't waste my money buying wines I really don't like. I currently run it on my iPad and iPhone, they make it easy to sync the two devices.

I'm so impressed with Wine Cellar Database. Not only do they provide multiple categories, but you can also make up your own! This app is easy to use if you want to keep your wine list basic or highly detailed.

The app is very helpful to track personal wine inventory. It is easy to use. The data can be made available in a number of different devices. Customer support is also very good!! If you want to keep an updated wine inventory, this is what you need.

I've at a number of other apps but this one is easily tailorable to meet my desire to keep a record of wines we've tried and pertinent information about the wine, our rating, the price we paid, and also the bottles we have on hand. I purchased the unlimited storage and expect to be able to use this app for many years to come.

This app has a couple of issues. First, logging wine is labor intensive as well as wines that should be an easy search, do not show. Second, this app was on my iPhone and iPad. If I log the info to my iPad, then that is the only place they sit. I can only view the wines on the device I loaded them to.

Was unable to find many wines. Needs a more thorough database.

Accurately gets price. Could use a UI face-lift. That would give it 5 stars for me.

App sounded terrific, but is far from. Unlike many other apps, there is no scanner function so data entry is all manual typing. Worse, the online service was down so even manual entry didn't work. May be a good app for reporting, but the implementation to start recording cellar entries and ongoing new bottles is just not worth the headaches compared with alternatives. Big disappointment.

First this app seem to be very complicated and less useful but the more I use it the better it seems to get and I am presently entering all of the wines in my cellar. I am enthusiastic about continuing to use it in my wine cellar which is now much more organized because of it. It is extremely helpful when searching for a wine when you have guests

This app's on-line search is terrible, it is locating about half of the wines. I'm not finding it to be as flexible as they advertise. I wish it did a better job of offering to complete my entries. On the other hand, I've not had any issues with any of the functionality and I am continuing to use it.

Very pretty artwork: exports to a *.csv file that makes sense. Love how food pairings are also included in the data. I enjoy working with this app.

I was enjoying the app and suddenly hit the 10 line limit and was told I had to purchase more lines. Would have appreciated a disclosure up front as to capacity.

Only problems sometime cann't find the wine at Internet to add to the list but are the less.
